The Division of Resources and Geoscience is committed to regular self-assessment and constant improvement of our performance.

Following public concern that mining approvals had the potential to be subject to fraud and corruption, the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment commissioned Ernst & Young to conduct a rigorous review of the Division’s processes.

This independent review found no indications of fraud or corruption in the current mining approvals process.

We welcome all findings and accept all recommendations to strengthen our frameworks for managing conflicts of interest and support further fraud and corruption training for our staff.
