The department holds a significant heritage collection of images documenting the activities of the department and the mining industry from the late 1800s to the present.

Images feature geological localities, staff at work, mining localities, specimens from our collections, micrographs and illustrations in our publications.

Our photo collection is housed in the department’s Maitland office.

Images may be accessed with permission, and copyright remains with the State of NSW through the Geological Survey of NSW.
