The Resources Regulator has responded to an incident at the Springvale Coal Mine near Lithgow in the Central West of NSW.

At around 4:50pm on Thursday 5 July, a mine worker was struck by a steel plate while attempting to fix a jammed conveyor chain on mine machinery.

The mine worker has sustained a fractured collar bone and facial injuries.

Paramedics treated the worker at the mine site, who was then transported to hospital.

A team of investigators from the Resources Regulator has been deployed to the site.

As investigation are ongoing, no further comment will be provided.
