8th April 2020

On the 11th of March 2020, the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a pandemic.

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Mining, Exploration and Geoscience (formerly the Division of Resources and Geoscience) has encouraged and enabled employees to work from home where possible.

Mining, Exploration and Geoscience’s (MEG) Maitland office and Londonderry office are closed to the public until further notice. The Lightning Ridge office remains open at this stage with strict adherence to the NSW Health directives. The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority and we are committed to taking all available steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

While some office locations may be closed, MEG continues to operate at normal work capacity, although this may change as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

MEG remains committed to delivering on its vision: our mineral and petroleum resources generating prosperity for the people of NSW.

This is a stressful time for many, with factors impacting on our economy and society that are well beyond our control. But serving the NSW community has always been, and continues to be, our priority. We will continue to be guided by the latest advice from NSW Health and will consider the impact of that advice on our service delivery. We appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times.
